Despite a slate of new movies and shows coming to the service next month, HBO Max in March 2021 is all about Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Godzilla vs. Kong.
First, the long-awaited extended director’s cut Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be launched on March 18, essentially redoing the 2017 film that ended up being a mess and underperforming at the box office following Snyder’s conflict with Warner Brothers during production and taking the helm by Joss Whedon who reshot 75% of the original movie. Snyder’s dark and grim take has been rumored for years, and already has achieved near-mythical status among fans. The superhero movie — with Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman — added an extra $70 million worth of special effects and its running time was extended by about two hours.
Later in the month, two of film’s most famous monsters clash in Godzilla vs. Kong (released on March 31), a ridiculous special-effects spectacle that will be available to stream the same day it’s released in theaters. Nonetheless, with Alexander Skarsgård and Millie Bobby Brown starring, a high-stakes plot, and massive visuals, Godzilla vs. Kong is sure to be an exciting adventure.
In terms of TV, you can look forward to Genera+ion, a dramedy that has a group of high school students exploring their sexuality from within their conservative community
or check out fan-favorite animations like Superman: The Animated Series and Final Space.
You will also have a chance to watch some very good feature-length documentaries premiering this month and they include Tina, COVID Diaries NYC, and Persona: The Dark Truth Behind Personality Tests.
