Although it cannot be further from the truth as its roots are in old Irish and Scottish tales and the celebration was transplanted to North American soil as late as in the 19th century, its modern appearance and appeal is very much owned to American pop culture.

The list of Halloween and around-Halloween movies and shows is endless with the titles ranging from the horror movies like the Halloween franchise (with its latest reboot of the 1978 original) to comedies and family/children shows like Hocus Pocus or Casper. 6. Beetlejuice (1988)
Another Halloween-mayhem Tim Burton’s story with a brilliant role of Michael Keaton supported by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin celebrating its 30th anniversary. 7. It (2017)
A very successful reboot of a classic Stephen King’s It from 1990. Probably one of the scariest movies in our list but also one of the best. A really hair-raising version of the previous demonic clown who has become an iconic movie monster. You can stream it on HBO NOW with Smart DNS Proxy.
8. The Conjuring (2013)
