He Named Me Malala, the 87-minute documentary, covers the story of the brave Pakistani teenager, Malala, who raised her voice against the Taliban (extremist) and became an easy target. But luckily, it wasn’t in their hands to take the precious life of this strong and passionate kid. And here is SHE!
Fox Searchlight Pictures distributed the documentary film last year in association with Image Nation Abu Dhabi FZ and Participant Media, with National Geographic Channel. Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Davis Guggenheim produced the doumentaryc film. The American company in an agreement with National Geographic has got the exclusive rights to bring the Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim’s documentary film to the screens this summer.
About Malala, and the Story of ‘He Named Me Malala’
Malala Yousafzai, aged 18, a Pakistani women rights advocate and a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate teenager who was mercilessly targeted by the Taliban militants and became badly injured due to gunshots on her way back to home from school in her native Swat Valley, Pakistan in 2012.
She raised her voice for girls’ education and stood firm despite of Taliban’s opposition to educational activities. The brave young girl, Malala refused to be the victim of her unkind attack, but rather the incident heightened her spirits and she continued to work for human rights.
